Try-On Tips

All Styles
Our intimates are made to be worn directly on your skin—no barriers allowed. For the most accurate fit, skip the self-tanner, lotion, oils, or fragrances while trying them on. Keep it clean and let your natural skin do the talking until you’re ready to commit.

Trying on a Bra

  • Check Your Straps:
Make sure your straps sit snugly over your shoulders—taut enough for support without digging in or sagging.
  • Start Loose:
Begin with the band’s loosest hook. The band should feel comfortably snug on its initial setting so you can gradually tighten it as it softly stretches with wear and washing.
  • Band Dynamics:
Your bra band should lie flat and firm across your back, right below your bust line. If the band rides up, try going down a size; if it digs into your sides, it’s time to size up.
  • Get Hands-On:
Don’t just slide into your bra—step in and make it work for you. Scoop your breast tissue with your hands and center yourself on the underwire. A little shimmy might be needed, but trust us, it’s worth it for the perfect fit.
  • Underwire Rhythm:
The underwire should smoothly contour your bust—from your breastbone to your side. If it cuts in too much on your side or cleavage, consider a cup size up. If the underwire extends too far, causing excess fabric near your armpit, try a cup size down.
  • Find the Gore:
The central connector (the ‘gore’) should rest flush against your sternum. If it pushes out or buckles, your fit may be off and could eventually lead to discomfort.

Underwear, Bodysuits & Swimwear
Always try these pieces on over your own underwear or a pair of tights. No one wants the awkwardness of wearing someone else’s briefs!

Not Getting It? Let’s Find Your Perfect Fit

Finding your ideal bra fit online takes a bit of trial and error—and that’s totally okay. Our Elevatewear fit team is here to help, so feel free to message us at hello@elevatewear.co if you need personalized advice. Meanwhile, here are some tips to help you self-diagnose your fit:

Our underwire bras operate on a diagonal sliding scale. In simple terms, the underwire in a 36B is the very same as in a 34C—and in a 32D. Conversely, the underwire used in a 32DD is identical to the ones in a 34D and a 36C. It’s all about proportional balance, so if you’re not feeling the fit, don’t be afraid to try a different sister size.

Takeaway:
For example, if you’ve always worn a 36C but the band rides up or the straps seem to dig in, consider trying a 34D. Start on the loosest hook so you can adjust as the band relaxes over time. Remember: a snug band gives you maximum support, while a loose one tends to let strap discomfort set in.
